Sauerkraut Sunday: Moving to the Cabbage

Sauerkraut Sunday: Moving to the Cabbage

Sauerkraut is plentiful in the Burgh, found on any hot dog or with kielbasa at many restaurants.  As I am preparing to leave Charlotte, I thought I’d see about finding sauerkraut in the restaurants of my favorite non-Pittsburgh city.  As it turns out, there are not a lot of options.  In fact, only one that I can vouch for personally, The Penguin.  This delicious restaurant does serve a “Connecticut Dog” with kraut on it (who ever heard of New Englanders liking kraut?).  A quick survey of the web shows only one other restaurant in Charlotte advertising Kraut, The Philadelphia Deli.  All in all, I think I’ll be smelling a lot more spoiled cabbage after I return.

Now on to the real purpose of Sauerkraut Sundays… As I go through the week, I use Twitter to send out little updates and links.  I realize that I do this quite a bit and that not all of you use Twitter, so with that in mind I’d like to take Sunday to do sort of a week in review.  I’ve selected the most useful of my tweets from the last week and placed them in to the categories that I use in this blog.
