Sauerkraut Sunday: Sauerkraut Sundae Edition

Sauerkraut Sunday: Sauerkraut Sundae Edition

I have been writing Sauerkraut Sunday posts for well over a year now and I can’t BELIEVE that I wasn’t aware of Sauerkraut Sundaes.  Turns out they’re a feature of the Waynesville Sauerkraut festival that includes potatoe, cheese, sausage and kraut.

On to the real purpose of Sauerkraut Sundays… As I go through the week, I use Twitterto send out little updates and links.  I realize that I do this quite a bit and that not all of you use Twitter, so with that in mind I’d like to take Sunday to do sort of a week in review.  I’ve selected the most useful of my tweets from the last week and placed them in to the categories that I use in this blog.

Pittsburgh AND Startups/Social Media!!!

  • I consider a full flight and a middle seat aa unique opportunity to surprise and overwhelm my fellow travelers with my cheer.

  • Did you realize their are 9 private companies in the Burgh with $1B+ revenue?
  • This @pghsymphony concert looks awesome. I may just buy tickets and figure out who’s going with later.
  • Mike Madison raises an interesting point, why does the Burgh care more about the Igloo than the public transit cuts?
  • Pittsburgh’s Business Scene is a hard one to get in to? New Burghers say so (via Eve Picker)

Social Media

  • Paul Graham and Fred Wilson’s conversation about AirBNB is just fascinating, a rare peak in a closed process.
  • I’m not sure why I like the idea of having a physical yearbook of my life, but I DO.
  • I wonder whether privacy settings are coming to Color or leaving other social networks.

  • I think it’s safe to assume no one in Pittsburgh is going to win any bracket challenges this year.

Tech News

  • It seems to me that there should be some circumstances under which book copyrights should have to be claimed.
  • I wondered aloud yesterday, whether Jack Dorsey had left Twitter because he agreed with me on this ( )… guess not.

Other (mostly humorous little notes)

  • (RT @juliussharpe Rapper Ja Rule was caught not paying taxes.  I guess he thought he was Ja Exception.
  • Does anyone else think find it a bit disturbing how many TV shows start with a dead body these days?
