The Pittsburgh Pirates have had a rough stretch the last couple days. Losing both last nights game and the previous one in extra innings. They’ve played 28 innings in 2 days and have only two losses to show for it. One of the games shouldn’t even have been a loss, somehow on the play above the runner was ruled safe. That’s right, after three nights of baseball against the Braves the Pirates have actually out scored the Braves 7-6 (not counting the “run” above), but have lost 2 of the 3 games. Do you know how that effects the way you attack tonight’s game against these same Braves?
It doesn’t. There are two types of things in this world, those that you can control and those that you can’t. The Pirates played their best the last two nights and put themselves in position to win those games (that they can control). They didn’t win the games (that they can’t). You can’t spend much time obsessing over the things you can’t control; sometimes they’ll be good, sometimes they’ll be bad. Either way, your focus needs to be on what you can control.
