Sometimes you’re scanning through Read, Write, Web or whatever your favorite tech journal is and you see something that makes you go, “well, crap, I wish I could invest in that company.” Such is the case with Twilio. The company is a bit skype-like in that it brings VoIP to browsers and phones. Where Twilio goes the extra mile is by focusing on making it easy for apps to interface with the voice connection. As the article notes, it’s intended to open up a line between you and mom while you’re playing Words With Friends. I don’t think Twilio has much chance of becoming the next AT&T but unless they are horribly managed, a favorable exit seems inevitable.
