German/Eastern European food is well known to Pittsburgh. It’s why I title this section “Sauerkraut Sunday”; sauerkraut seems like a nice array of juicy little bits, which is what I dig up each week. What Pittsburghers and German/Eastern European food is not known for is being skinny. In fact, in the latest numbers PA moved from the 22nd highest obesity rating to the 17th highest as the percentage of people obese in PA rose from 26.7% to 28.1%. I have found the answer to our problems though, and it comes from the same place all answers come from; SAUERKRAUT! Specifically, this sauerkraut diet appears to be the ticket to Pittsburgh’s slimmer side. It advises how you can lose 6 pounds in 4 days by eating Sauerkraut in every meal except breakfast. For the record, that’s not actually advised. If you’re serious about getting in shape, you’re much better off checking out the blog of my good friend, Matt Gartland.
Now on to the real purpose of Sauerkraut Sundays… As I go through the week, I use Twitterto send out little updates and links. I realize that I do this quite a bit and that not all of you use Twitter, so with that in mind I’d like to take Sunday to do sort of a week in review. I’ve selected the most useful of my tweets from the last week and placed them in to the categories that I use in this blog.
