It’s Time to Treat IT Like We Know What We’re Doing

I don’t normally spend TOO much time on this blog on Enterprise IT, but it is how I make my living.  I have argued previously on this blog, that IT WILL become more efficient; that for 60+ years IT has matured without writing down what it did.  I’ve learned from many years of IT consulting that almost all IT projects and IT organizations can be improved by systematically writing down the decisions that have been made and vetting future decisions against that wisdom.

What did Adaptivity do to solve this problem?  We built a way to document that knowledge and a way to understand the requirements of your IT organization, in the business’ terms.  Then we hired some of the most experienced IT executives, architects and consultants and filled that methodology with years and years and years of lessons learned.  We ended up with hundreds of documented capabilities (technical, process and organization), 50+ functional patterns, 25+ deployment patterns, hundreds of known problems and remediations, 50 qualities of IT demand and many other ways to understand the IT jungle.

We had dozens of successful consulting engagements applying this knowledge, before deciding to take the last step…

Earlier this month, Adaptivity, released a piece of software, BluePrint4IT, that makes our methodology and knowledgebase in to a tool that you can use!  Solve problems, document your architecture, facilitate a cloud deployment or a large-scale transformation all with a tool that .  If you’re an enterprise IT type, check out the video above or our websites, http://www.Adaptivity.com and http://www.BluePrint4IT.com.  Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
