• I Topeka’ed April Fools

Google announced this morning April 1, 2010 that they have renamed themselves Topeka.  Completing the swap that began when Topeka, Kansas renamed themselves Google, Kansas in an effort to become the first city granted Google’s ultra-high speed broadband (something Pittsburgh applied for as well).  I don’t think its as good as last year’s prank, Gmail Autopilot.  Which would automatically respond to emails.  The danger of course with Autopilot was when two autopilot machines started conversing with one another.  This, Google claimed, was dangerous after 3 messages with the potential to leave you, “may commit you to dinner parties or baby namings in which you have no interest.”

Still, points to Google for coming up with yet another classic April Fools joke.
